Jump Start 2019
This July 14-17, the College Access Initiative at the Center for Multicultural and Diversity Education at the University of Arkansas will host a small group of rising high school seniors on campus for the inaugural Jump Start program.
During four days and three nights on campus, students will engage with UA students, campus professionals, and stay in a residence hall, while completing tasks related to the college going process. During the program each student will: navigate campus, complete college applications, work on scholarship essays, and build important relationships with support personnel.
To be eligible to apply, students must:
-be graduating in May 2020 from an Arkansas high school;
-have interest in applying to and learning more about the University of Arkansas;
-be currently be on track to meet the UA’s automatic admission criteria (3.0 GPA and 19 on the ACT).
Students also must have a recommendation from a school official; instructions on how to complete this will be sent in an email after application is completed.
A $25.00 fee will be due upon acceptance to the program.
Applications are online, and will be accepted until May 1, 2019. Selected students will be notified by May 17, and will be required to submit a 6th semester transcript and ACT scores to our office by June 1st.
